In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud security systems across distributed environments. You will work closely with engineering teams, security officers, and stakeholders to enforce security policies, automate controls, and monitor infrastructure for vulnerabilities. This position emphasizes both proactive and reactive security, including containerized workloads, infrastructure-as-code pipelines, and compliance with regulatory frameworks. You will help define secure-by-design practices while driving automation and improving operational efficiency. Ideal candidates thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, and are passionate about safeguarding sensitive data, scaling cloud systems, and collaborating with global teams. This role requires working in Eastern Time zones to align with cross-functional teams and security operations. Accountabilities: Implement and maintain cloud security controls aligned with compliance frameworks and internal audit requirements. Lead vulnerability management efforts across cloud and containerized infrastructure. Build monitoring and reporting systems to assess security posture, compliance, and incident metrics. Automate security operations including scanning, secret management, and policy enforcement. Integrate security best practices into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows. Collaborate with development and operations teams to deliver secure-by-design solutions. Participate in security reviews, audits, risk assessments, and on-call rotations. Develop and maintain security documentation, policies, and awareness initiatives. Currently located in a U.S. Eastern Time Zone state, with experience working in distributed or global teams. 5+ years in cloud security engineering or operations. Hands-on experience with AWS or other cloud platforms and Kubernetes. Strong understanding of container infrastructure, IAM, and secure network architecture. Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Helm. Familiarity with cloud-native monitoring, logging, and vulnerability management tools. Ability to automate and scale security processes using scripting or workflow tools. Knowledge of threat modeling, penetration testing, and secure cloud architecture. Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security, GCP Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or CISSP. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent practical experience). Experience supporting SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, NIST, or similar regulatory frameworks. Competitive base salary ($145,000–$160,000) with performance-based incentives. Fully remote position within Eastern Time Zone U.S. states. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage. Paid time off, holidays, and flexible working hours. Employer-paid parental leave. Retirement savings plan with company contributions. Professional development and continuing education support. Collaborative, diverse, and supportive work culture focused on innovation and security.
