The Chief Information Officer (CIO) Division within the Enabling and Business Services Group of DISR, provides a range of enabling services and operations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses and are seeking an experienced and motivated Cloud Security Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience to assist with the management and development of the Department’s Cloud security infrastructure.

Cloud Security Engineers will be required to:

• Support security operations engineering projects within the Azure environment.
• Deploy cloud-based security services, process automations, reviews and general feature updates.
• Develop enterprise level detailed architecture documentation for Cloud based services.
• Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-based systems.
• Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers.
• Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintain adherence to whole-of-government standards.
• Provide technical guidance and input into the design and build of cloud-based systems.
• Liaise with a cross-functional teams including business owners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers, enterprise architects & testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
• Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation – testing, continuous integration and deployment
• Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicable to cloud platforms – re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, open data/access over siloed functionality
• Promote and help ensure solutions align with the DTA’s Digital Service Standard
• Be strategic, a leader and influencer.
• Undertake additional duties as required.
