This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Cloud Security Engineer (Work Remotely Anywhere in the U.S.) in United States. As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in securing and optimizing cloud infrastructure while ensuring compliance with industry best practices. You will design, implement, and maintain security solutions across cloud environments, proactively identifying risks and mitigating vulnerabilities. The role involves collaborating with development and operations teams to integrate security into every stage of the software lifecycle. You will be responsible for monitoring security posture, responding to incidents, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Accountabilities: Build, maintain, and enforce central security policies across cloud infrastructure. Develop continuous audit solutions to ensure systems comply with security standards. Collaborate with development teams to identify potential security flaws before production. Establish and maintain security standards based on best practices. Respond to security incidents, troubleshoot issues, and provide on-call support as needed. Offer guidance and mentorship to less-experienced technical staff. Propose creative solutions that improve security while supporting business growth. 4+ years of experience securing cloud infrastructures, particularly in AWS. 5+ years of experience in security monitoring and incident response activities. Strong Linux and/or Windows administration skills; familiarity with serverless environments. Hands-on experience with AWS security services: Config, IAM, WAF, GuardDuty, CloudFormation, and networking security. Knowledge of software application security best practices (OWASP, CWE/SANS). Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform, etc.). Proficiency in modern scripting languages. Familiarity with CI/CD platforms, version control systems, container security, and Kubernetes. Development experience in Java or Python is a plus. BS in Computer Science, CIS, Software Engineering, or related field. Highly motivated, innovative, self-directed, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
