Peraton is excited to offer an immediate opportunity for a talented Cloud Software Engineer to join our Cyber Intel team in Laurel, Maryland! If you’re passionate about cutting-edge cloud technologies and thrive in an agile, collaborative environment, this is the perfect role for you. We’re looking for someone who will be instrumental in supporting and developing advanced capabilities for a state-of-the-art Data Warehouse integrated into large-scale cloud infrastructure.
Note - This role has telework flexibility and would require some after hours on-call support.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • A minimum of five years of experience in software development/engineering, including requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field is required
  • A Master’s degree in a Technical Field will be considered equivalent to two years of experience, making the years required only three
  • One of the following Cloud Certifications is required prior to starting: AWS Certified Developer - Associate, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong proficiency in AWS SDKs and APIs
  • Expertise in designing scalable, efficient AWS Cloud Architectures.
  • Experience performing AWS Well Architected Framework Reviews
  • Hands on experience with AWS cloud, serverless architecture and cloud application deployment
  • A deep understanding of AWS services and how to leverage them to drive innovation
  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools, like CloudFormation or Terraform
  • Skilled in CI/CD Testing
  • Familiar with or have used AWS Pricing Calculator and Cost Explorer
  • Familiar with or have used CloudWatch and CloudTrial
  • Experience with Gitlab for Version Control.
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design & Develop: Lead agile software design and development, creating innovative solutions for high-performance services hosted on massive compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Optimize & Enhance: Implement testing, performance tuning, and optimization for cloud-native applications, ensuring high availability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with a dynamic, cross-functional team to innovate and sustain our cloud-based services.
  • Support: Be the go-to expert, providing operational and sustainment support with occasional after-hours and on-call responsibilities.
  • Impact: Help shape the future of our cyber solutions and contribute to mission-critical projects that make a difference.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform high-level requirements analysis, software development, integration, and testing with autonomy.
  • Lead the design and execution of software solutions on large-scale compute clusters and AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Guide junior team members and help refine processes to ensure project success.
