Description:
This is NOT a remote-work position. The primary responsibility of the Cloud Software Engineer will be to support the development and implementation of Cloud infrastructures, orchestration and service design and delivery for Cloud implementations. The Engineer will be supporting Cloud Implementation and Cybersecurity initiatives at the DoD and Army level. The position will be required to conduct design and analysis, applying a multi-disciplinary approach to deliver next-generation technology and services to cloud platforms. This position requires experience with Red Hat OpenStack and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google) in general, as well as experience in design, implementation, and/or operation of cloud infrastructures (compute, network, storage). The Cloud Software Engineer will apply knowledge and experience to provide both technical and operational support to new and existing cloud implementation efforts to plan, design, build, integrate, test, manage, and support cloud services and cloud infrastructure. The Engineer must be able to convey technical and operational considerations orally and in written formats at various levels of understanding from senior leadership to detailed technical discussions with engineering staff. The Engineer will deliver support to both new design and implementation efforts as well as existing, deployed cloud infrastructures and services. Additional experience is desirable and not limited to network monitoring, vulnerability assessment, cloud security, operational security, firewalls, IDS/IPS, encryption/decryption, PKI, Identity and Access Management, IP Address Management, DNS, and host-based security.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· AWS professional certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Cloud Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional, etc.)
· 16+ years of IT experience with a High School diploma, 12+ years of IT experience with a Bachelors, 10+ years of IT experience with a Masters, 8+ years of IT experience with a PhD.
· 6+ years of experience with cloud technologies
· 5+ years of experience providing cloud engineering expertise within government contracts
· 2+ years of experience with JAVA, Python, or similar programming language
· 2+ years of experience working with Army Defensive Cyber Operations
· 1+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux running OpenStack
· Hands-on experience with at least one cloud orchestration platform (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, CloudStack)
· Hands-on experience with container orchestration services
· Experience with DoD Secure Cloud Computing Architecture (SCCA) and DoD Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide (CC SRG)
· Experience with the Agile software development, integration, and testing
· Demonstrated knowledge of cloud orchestration platforms
· Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
· Knowledge of interpreting architectures and frameworks for cloud infrastructure and services.
· Ability to maintain a DoD TS / SCI Clearance
· CISSP, CISA or equivalent required. (DoD IAM level 3)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
· B.S. Computer Science, Electrical or Computer/Electrical Engineering or Information Technology, and/or combination of education and work experience equivalent
· MCSA, Linux+, RHSCA, CCNA or equivalent
· Security+, GSEC, GSNA, CEH or similar certification desirable
· Experience managing and operating cloud orchestration platform(s).
· Experience in designing and implementing a cloud service(s).
· Experience with large scale infrastructure management tools such as: Puppet, Chef, SMS, Satellite, etc.
· Knowledge of interpreted and compiled computer programming languages such as Python, Java, C, Objective C, C++, C Sharp, SQL, Tcl, Perl, PHP. Assembly, CUDA, and GPU language experience desirable.
· Knowledge of advanced computing technologies such as parallel processing, in-memory databases, graph databases and graph theory, machine learning, deep learning, and neural networks.
· Knowledge of network protocols and file format specifications.
· Knowledge of storage systems and storage engineering practices
· Knowledge of capacity management for cloud infrastructures
· Knowledge of application, network, and host level security devices, software, and services
· Demonstrated history in engineering design and implementation
· Demonstrated history in service design and/or delivery
· Demonstrated history in security engineering and concepts
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $160,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
