CLOUD SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Peraton is seeking a Cloud Software Engineer to ake on a pivotal role with our elite Cyber Intelligence team in Laurel, MD. This isn’t your average dev job-here, your work directly supports national security and cutting-edge innovation. You’ll be part of an integrated product team, tackling high-impact challenges and engineering large-scale systems that matter.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is required, or alternatively, an additional 4 years of relevant experience.
  • A Master’s degree can substitute for 2 years of experience, reducing the total experience requirement to 6 years.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development/engineering, including activities such as requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • At least 6 years of experience developing software using high-level programming languages such as Java, C, or C++.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Redhat versions 3-5) operating systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience in software integration and testing, including the creation and execution of test plans and test scripts.
  • One of the following certifiations are required:
  • AWS Certified Developer-Associate
  • AWS DevOps Engineer Professsional
  • Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Elastic Certified Engineer
Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As a key member of our agile team, you’ll help design, develop, and scale a powerful, full-featured cloud service running on large compute clusters and AWS infrastructure. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Architecting and building mission-critical cloud software solutions
  • Integrating Large Language Models (LLM) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
  • Tuning and optimizing for performance at scale
  • Automating deployment and monitoring with cutting-edge DevOps practices
  • Supporting the entire software lifecycle-from whiteboard to deployment (and beyond)
  • Collaborating across disciplines to solve complex, real-world problems
