Description
SAIC is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect with hands-on experience spanning full stack application development and cloud engineering. This role supports mission systems end-to-end, combining modern software development with secure infrastructure operations in classified environments. The position is located in Reston, VA and requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to be cosnidered. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Participate across all phases of the software development lifecycle, including scope and work estimation, design, documentation, implementation, testing, integration, and sustainment. Design and develop new applications aligned to Sponsor mission requirements. Provide operations and maintenance support for multiple mission tools. Contribute to software architecture decisions and develop solutions to complex design challenges. Develop modern front end applications using current frameworks. Build, deploy, and maintain containerized applications in cloud environments. Manage virtual and physical servers within VMware environments. Administer Windows Server environments (2008–2016) and Linux operating systems including Ubuntu, CentOS, and Rocky. Implement and maintain infrastructure security using industry best practices for privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. Proactively monitor systems to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues. Perform system upgrades, patching, reconfiguration, and hardening activities. Manage physical server environments including rack layout, cabling, labeling, documentation, and KVM configurations. Execute backup operations and support disaster recovery and failover processes. Review system and application logs to maintain system integrity and security. Respond to help desk and JIRA requests and communicate resolutions to stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Bachelors and 14 years or more experience; Masters and12 years or more experience; PhD or JD and 9 years or more experience. Demonstrated experience independently designing and developing cloud based applications using current best practices and architectural guidelines. Experience in software engineering, application development, or web application development and deployment. Object oriented development experience in a modern language such as Java, Go, or C#. Front end development experience using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. Experience developing and operating in Linux environments. Experience developing and deploying solutions in commercial cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP. Experience developing containerized applications using Kubernetes. Experience with orchestration and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Helm. Working knowledge of networking and VPN technologies including OpenVPN, WireGuard, and IPSec. Experience managing user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocations. Experience performing software and hardware upgrades, patching, and reconfiguration. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues and assess mission impact. Experience implementing data protection, backup, disaster recovery, and failover procedures. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain issues and resolutions clearly.\ Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent professional experience. Desired Qualifications : Advanced experience with Java or Go. Strong JavaScript development experience. Hands on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP services including EC2, S3, EKS, EFS, Route53, and load balancing technologies. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation, including GitLab. System administration experience in classified or regulated environments. Industry certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or networking disciplines. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware. Scripting and automation experience using Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
Responsibilities
