Job Description
As a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining cloud infrastructure through IaC. This role will be Ops focused, involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing cloud resources to ensure maximum uptime and performance along with a bit of design and build components.
You will also be working with cloud providers to manage and configure cloud resources, monitoring performance and availability of cloud resources, setting up automatic scaling, load balancing, and disaster recovery strategies, and performing system updates and patches.
You will optimize the performance of our systems through team collaboration of hardware and software configurations. Dive deep to resolve problems at their root, looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions. You will work closely with other operations staff, engineering and client services to ensure cloud services are available 24 x 7.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with automation using Powershell/Bash Scripting
  • A demonstrated deep knowledge of supporting and managing AWS Cloud environments, using primarily AWS native tools.
  • AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodePipeline and GitLab.
  • AWS VPCs, VPC peering, VPC endpoints, Transit Gateway & Direct Connect.
  • EC2 (Linux and windows), Load balancers, Autoscaling groups, & RDS.
  • S3, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, CloudWatch Logs, Events & alarms and AWS Athena queries.
  • Security Hub, Guard Duty, Firewall Manager, Config & IAM analyzer.
  • Managed NAT, ECS Fargate, Internet Gateway & Route 53.
  • AWS Backup, System Manager, EFS (probably SMB-based, TBC), Lambda & Kinesis Data Firehose.
  • Excellent in AWS Organizations, OUs & Service Control Policies.
  • Hands on with RHEL based Linux and Windows OS
  • Solid Customer support experience
  • A demonstrated history of taking initiative and understanding of operating in a compliance environment.
  • Significant experience working within a Microsoft Environment.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills.
  • Ability to interpreting and present results to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills and ability to prioritize and control workload.
  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and a successful track record in building strong relationships. with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Managed Services and ITIL experience preferred.
