This Position is for WEEKENDS, Split Shifts, 6am-10am and then 4pm-8pm Saturday & Sundays. (Holidays & weekdays may be required at times )
The Delta St. John’s Hotel is a 403 room fast paced, high volume conference hotel. We strive to foster a strong service culture and team environment so that the needs of our guests and associates are met in equal measure.
We are seeking a qualified Attendant in our Club Floor Lounge. This is CASUAL position. We offer an attractive wage and benefits package as well as an industry travel perks.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • To meet and greet all club floor guests;
  • Set up and break down the breakfast buffet, evening hors d’oevres and honour bar
  • Clear tables in Club Lounge and maintain the overall cleanliness in the lounge kitchen area
  • Assist guests with computer,
  • Post charges in Opera as required with Front Office
  • Maintain and report deficiencies in the Club lounge, corridors and guestrooms
  • Conduct room inspections and evening warming
  • Embrace all opportunities to increase the awareness and use of the Signature Club experience
  • Provide Concierge service as needed
  • Selling and serving of food and beverage to guests;
  • Accountable for balancing daily sales and complying with established cash handling procedures;
  • Ensuring stock is adequately maintained (linen, cutlery, etc.)
  • To maintain sanitation and hotel standards in outlet;
  • To keep stock control of food and liquor consumed in the Lounge;
  • Guest Folio Check out, posting Bar charges
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors or managers.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

  • Previous hotel experience in similar position an asset; however, Hospitality/Travel & Tourism certificate from a recognized college will be considered;
  • Aspects of GSA’s work at Front Office required, including Opera, SafLock an assett
  • Positive, enthusiastic, outgoing personality a definite must;
  • Demonstrated exceptional guest service skills with a passion to continually anticipate and

    Exceed guest expectations

  • Bilingual (French), an asset;

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Must be a responsible, organized individual who can work with minimum supervision;
  • Computer and typing skills required
  • Previous cash handling experience necessary;
  • A working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel an asset
  • Ability to up sell hotel facilities required;
  • Must be honest, reliable and dependable;
  • Knowledge of all types of beer, liquor and wines required;
  • Basic accounting required;
  • Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with ease;
  • Must be detail orientated;
  • Must be honest, reliable and dependable;
  • Must demonstrate behaviour consistent with core values;
  • Must have strong knowledge of the City, Newfoundland Historical Sites, special events in the city, etc.;
  • Must be in good health and practice good hygiene;
  • Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skills.
