Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF ROLE

The Club Manager of Activ8 Fitness – Ladies only club in Bedford will be responsible for general running of all aspects of the club with specific emphasis on the sale of new memberships, retention of existing members, management of staff and contractors plus H&S requirements.

CONTEXT OF THE ROLE

The role-holder will have a proven track record of leading high-performing sales teams within a quality-focused service or commercial environment, consistently delivering against key performance indicators (KPIs). A major focus of the role will be to coach, train, and develop a like-minded, results-driven team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to learn and adapt quickly, particularly important in the context of launching a new club. The ideal candidate should have Level 2 qualifications and will also be confident in engaging with gym-goers, bringing a personal touch to the membership experience, and helping to build a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere within the club.
As this club is being developed as a women-only fitness facility, the manager will need to be sensitive to the needs of female members and able to foster a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment. In line with the Equality Act 2010 (Schedule 9), this role is considered to have a genuine occupational requirement to be filled by a woman, in order to deliver the service in a way that respects members’ privacy, dignity, and wellbeing.
