Description POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Club Operations Support Specialist (C) DEPARTMENT: Support Services FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Fleet & Facilities Manager TYPICAL WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, Hours vary between 7am and 10pm Occasional nights and weekends with proper notice About the Role As a Club Operations Support Specialist, you play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for the youth, families, and staff of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Neck. Your work directly supports our mission — helping young people reach their full potential — by ensuring every space in our Club is clean, functional, and filled with pride. You’re not just maintaining a building; you’re shaping the experience of every child who walks through our doors. What You’ll Do: · Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of Club facilities, equipment, and grounds. · Perform routine and preventive maintenance, identifying and reporting issues, hazards, or needed repairs. · Clean and sanitize restrooms, floors, windows, common areas, and other surfaces to maintain a healthy environment. · Safely operate cleaning tools, machinery, and maintenance equipment. · Support setup and breakdown of events, programs, meetings, and office relocations. · Manage cleaning materials, tools, and supply inventory to ensure proper stock and responsible use. · Maintain safe work practices and follow all facility, equipment, and OSHA-related safety guidelines. · Represent the Club with professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to service. · Participate in staff meetings, required training sessions, and certification activities. · Assist with the repair, renovation, and equipment installation projects by preparing work areas, supporting maintenance tasks, and monitoring progress. · Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs in project-affected areas under supervisor direction. · Ensure tools and materials used during projects are organized, secured, and properly stored. · Participate in pre/post-project walkthroughs to verify that work meets safety and operational standards. Requirements What You Bring: · 18 years of age or older. · Ability to read and follow safety and maintenance procedures. · Strong attention to detail and pride in your work. · Friendly, dependable, and professional attitude with youth, staff, and visitors. · Ability to work independently and take initiative. · Capable of performing physical tasks such as standing, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), bending, and climbing as needed. Preferred Qualifications: · Experience in facility maintenance, custodial, or building services. · Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to earn). · Valid driver’s license (CDL with passenger endorsement a plus!) · Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
