We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Club Steward or Stewardess to lead day-to-day operations and contribute to the ongoing success of our Club.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a similar role (club, pub or hospitality setting preferred).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in purchasing and managing stock.
  • Cellar management experience.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety standards.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as part of the core hours.
  • References required.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As Club Steward or Stewardess, you will be responsible for the overall management and daily running of the Bar and cellar. Your focus will be on ensuring a high-quality experience for our members, maintaining facilities, and supporting events. The position offers an ideal opportunity to live on-site in the Club’s three bedroom house and run a close-knit, community-focused establishment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage both bar and cleaning staff, including the preparation of weekly rotas, staff recruitment and training as required.
  • Overall day to day running and cleaning of the bar areas and all associated equipment, beer lines and cellar equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of Club facilities.
  • The purchase of wet and dry goods, within set budgets to obtain the best value from suppliers, receiving, checking deliveries, managing and securing stock and waste effectively, keeping accurate records of all stock and waste.
  • Daily cashing up, weekly banking, cash and card reconciliation, safe checks and the upkeep of electronic records.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to members and guests.
  • Liaise regularly with the Management Committee.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Support Club events and special occasions.
