CLUBHOUSE MANAGER

Ham Manor Golf Club – Angmering, West Sussex
Ham Manor Golf Club, a private members’ club with over 90 years of heritage, is seeking an experienced and motivated Clubhouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our clubhouse and hospitality services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant club, set in beautiful parkland surroundings, and play a central role in ensuring the highest standards of service for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible for the day to day smooth and efficient management of the clubhouse and clubhouse surroundings.
  • To realise the potential for growth of the bar and catering services at Ham Manor Golf Club and ensure the Club’s financial success, delivering a long-term strategic plan for its development.
  • To be a member of the Senior Management team and work collaboratively with the Accounts Manager, Operations Manager, Head Chef, Course Manager and Head Professional
  • Oversee the Club’s diary/executive on Intelligent Golf (IG) planner collaboratively with the Operations Manager ensuring that all events both on and off the course are booked and managed effectively
  • Implement Board policy as directed by the General Manager
  • Manage the Clubhouse facilities, including bar, catering, and events.
  • Responsible to lead and motivate the clubhouse team to deliver exceptional member and guest experiences.
  • To be responsible for the recruitment, induction, training, development and management of all Front of House staff, including customer service, access and licensing.
  • To ensure that all Front of House staff have adequate and appropriate training in Health and Safety and incident and fire evacuation procedures.
  • Oversee stock control, purchasing, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and Head Chef to maintain smooth operations.
  • Oversee and manage the planning and delivery of club events, functions, and private bookings.
  • Drive revenue through member social events and offers.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and customer service throughout the clubhouse.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be reasonably required.
  • To work with the General Manager in developing risk assessments for the building and the production of the overall risk register.
  • To operate within the Club’s GDPR and health and safety policies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience in hospitality, F&B management, or clubhouse operations (ideally within a golf club, private members’ club, or similar environment).
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and stock management.
  • A hands-on, customer-focused approach with attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during peak periods.
