Description
The Cluster Groups & Events Manager is responsible for leading and driving the Groups & Events business across the cluster hotels, ensuring the achievement of revenue targets, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.   This role manages the complete sales and planning cycle for corporate groups, conferences, social events, weddings, and other functions, while proactively developing business opportunities and strengthening client relationships. The Manager also oversees the Groups & Events Executive(s), ensuring smooth coordination and successful event execution from enquiry through post-event follow-up.   Key Responsibilities Commercial & Sales Leadership * Drive Groups & Events revenue across all cluster properties through proactive sales activities and strategic account management  * Identify and develop new business opportunities within corporate, MICE, social, and leisure segments  * Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site inspections to secure new and repeat business  * Prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage pricing strategies in line with revenue objectives  * Maximise revenue opportunities through upselling and cross-selling of hotel services and facilities  * Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to support business growth    Event & Group Management * Manage complex and high-value events from enquiry to completion  * Ensure accurate event documentation, contracts, function sheets, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)  * Coordinate closely with operational departments to ensure seamless event delivery  * Oversee group rooming lists, billing instructions, special arrangements, and VIP requirements  * Maintain strong communication with clients throughout all stages of the event lifecycle  * Ensure post-event follow-up, feedback collection, and relationship management    Team Leadership * Supervise and support the Groups & Events Executive(s)  * Provide coaching, training, and guidance to ensure departmental standards are achieved  * Assist in setting departmental goals, KPIs, and performance expectations  * Foster a collaborative, service-oriented, and commercially driven team culture    Administration & Systems * Ensure all enquiries and activities are accurately updated within hotel systems and CRM platforms  * Maintain strong working knowledge of Opera, Delphi, Meeting Broker, Cvent, and related systems  * Prepare regular sales activity reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates  * Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety standards, and operational procedures    Skills & Experience * Minimum 3 years’ experience in Groups & Events, Conference & Banqueting, or Hotel Sales within a luxury or upscale hospitality environment  * Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills  * Proven ability to manage large-scale events and multiple priorities simultaneously  * Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills  * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail  * Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment  * Proficiency in Opera, Delphi, Meeting Broker, and Cvent preferred    Competencies * Client-focused approach  * Revenue-driven mindset  * Strong decision-making ability  * Excellent problem-solving skills  * Professional presentation and communication
