Active Staff are pleased to represent a family feel Engineering business in the heart of Andover. This innovative Engineering company are looking to bolster their team with a Mechanical minded CMM inspector.

The role of the CMM inspector:

  • Use a range of additional inspection tools and equipment, such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and material standards to validate documentation.
  • Report non-conformances promptly and collaborate with relevant departments to address quality issues.
  • Prepare and review ISIR (Initial Sample Inspection Reports) and FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports) in accordance with customer and industry requirements
  • Offline program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to carry out dimensional inspections of components.

The person for the CMM Inspector:

  • Proven experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and material specifications.
  • Proficient in programming and operating CMM equipment.
  • Experience with FAIR and ISIR preparation.
  • Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and surface testers.
