POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a CMM Operator under the direction of the Quality Manager, in all actions, will demonstrate a high level of confidentiality; supports Sonaca North America’s Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other Company policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency preferred. Candidates that do not have a high school diploma or high school equivalency will be required to take a pre-employment assessment to be considered for the role.
  • Knowledge of MS-DOS based computer systems.
  • The ability to read blueprints, mylars and customer specifications.
  • Solid experience with measurement and calibration methods.
  • Manufacturing experience particularly with computer assisted production.
  • Work record, which demonstrates a commitment to quality and efficiency. This includes a good attendance record.
  • Knowledge of SPC and geometric dimension and tolerances.
  • The ability to work with all Company personnel in a cooperative and pleasant manner.
  • Preferably prior CMM experience or CNC mill operation experience with posting and running jobs
  • Familiar with PC-DMIS Software preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work overtime as needed

Responsibilities
  • Start up and operate the CMM following the proper operating and safety procedures.
  • Read and understand setup sheets and set up jobs per instructions
  • Read and understand Sonaca North America sampling plan and run setup jobs per plan requirements.
  • Read and understand CMM part programs, make minor setup and program adjustments as necessary on a personal computer (PC) system.
  • Complete data exchange through the CAD/CAM and SPC systems.
  • Follow parts schedule prepared by the supervisor. Modify the schedule as required to accommodate “hot jobs” or emergency requirements.
  • Work with CAD/CAM programmers, quality, and production personnel to collect data and resolve problems.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance on the CMM to ensure the safe and efficient operation.
  • Participate in work center team and/or other project teams.
