  • 2+ years of experience working with CMMS software in a maintenance or facilities environment
  • Familiarity with equipment maintenance, asset management, or industrial environments
  • Strong data entry and computer skills (Excel, Word, reporting tools, etc.)
  • Experience with a CMMS platform (e.g., EAM, Hippo, Maximo, MP2, SAP PM, etc.)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skretting is seeking a CMMS Technician to join our team in St. Andrews, New Brunswick. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure effective planning, tracking, and execution of maintenance activities in our production facilities. The CMMS Technician will oversee data accuracy, generate reports, support preventive maintenance scheduling, and provide system training and guidance to team members. They will also collaborate with other departments and third-party agencies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring compliance with maintenance and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspections & Preventive Maintenance: Checks equipment, machinery, installations, and systems based on maintenance schedules; restores imminent defects and performs corrective maintenance.
  • Problem Reporting & Solutions: Identifies and reports potential flaws, assesses severity, and proposes solutions to prevent future issues.
  • Spare Parts Management: Orders and manages spare parts and materials required for maintenance activities.
  • Planned & Complex Maintenance: Executes extensive or complex maintenance tasks (e.g., during shutdowns) and may supervise third-party technicians.
  • Malfunction Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnoses malfunctions in equipment, machinery, and control systems; performs emergency or scheduled repairs as needed.
  • Modifications & Improvements: Implements modifications and overhaul work per instructions; proposes improvements and may perform technical tasks (welding, machining, lathe work).
  • Reporting & Documentation: Records all maintenance activities in management systems, maintains technical data, and ensures traceability of equipment history.
  • Compliance & Safety: Adheres to safety regulations and technical standards, signals hazards, and takes appropriate action in unsafe situations.
