Job Description
The job opening is for a full-time Research Staff Member in the Western Digital Corporation emerging device fabrication group.

Responsibilities
  • Build nanoscale devices for a range of exploratory projects such as non-volatile memories, novel magnetic biosensor applications, AI memory/compute architectures, superconducting qubits, superconducting electronics, etc.
  • We are looking for a scientist/engineer with a strong background in chemical mechanical polishing and nanoscale device processing. The candidate we hire will own the CMP sector in our research cleanroom, where he/she will be responsible for developing new polishing recipes for a wide array of devices, ranging from emerging memories, to qubits, to advanced biological sensors.
  • In addition, in time he/she will help integrate these CMP techniques into a variety of our process flows.
  • The device fabrication is performed in a state-of-the art research cleanroom on our San Jose headquarters campus. You will be joining a fabrication team of 20+ engineers and technicians with nearly 500 years of combined nanofabrication experience.
