CMT Engineer
Description:
Tampa based engineering firm looking for a motivated engineer to join our Construction Services group. Must have experience in the construction industry, ideally with a focus on materials testing / geotechnical engineering.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Prepare proposals / project estimates
- Project management and coordination
- Facilitate coordination of laboratory and field testing
- Perform site visits and field inspections when required
- Actively communicate with site contractors, technicians, and other team members
- Advise and assist field technicians with test / site issues
- Perform laboratory analysis of soils, concrete, and asphalt materials for a variety of projects
- Quality review of daily field and laboratory reports
- Finalize and submit reports according to client deadlines
Education & Certifications:
- BS in Civil/Geotechnical/Construction Engineering
- Experience with QC Testing and knowledge of FDOT specifications is a plus
- ACI and CTQP certifications are a plus
- Working knowledge of soil mechanics theory and laboratory testing techniques

- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
- Engaging interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Willingness and flexibility to travel occasionally for work
- Focused organization and time management abilities
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation will be required
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Must have excellent communication skills & a strong work ethic
