Description Status: 36hours/week 7p-7a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Acute Care Unit Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Acute Care Unit! In this dynamic role, you'll be the first point of contact for incoming communication—whether by phone, call bell, or in person—and ensure it's directed to the right team member. You’ll also support shift staffing adjustments in collaboration with the Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Nurse Manager, and perform CNA duties as needed to support patient care. Essential job duties, but not limited to: Promotes patient safety and abides by the patient fall risk program and completes fall risk rounding at least twice per shift. Obtains and documents vital signs and reports abnormal findings to patient’s nurse. Performs daily weights and reports abnormal findings to patient’s nurse. Appropriately documents ADLs, ambulation, intake and output, vital signs, weights, safety rounding, and any other patient care activities performed throughout shift. Ensures that patients have fresh water, while appropriately observing patients with NPO status or fluid restrictions. Assists patients with activities of daily living along with providing them with supplies. Assists in ambulating patient according to physician order. Requirements Education: Must have an active valid CNA certificate in Maine. High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Obtains BLS certification within 1 year of hire into this position and maintains current certification thereafter. Schedule: In consideration of our patients’ and staff needs, you may be required to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and/or holidays, and may need to float to other units.
