Scope of Position: The primary purpose of the CNA is to perform various resident care activities and related nonprofessional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of the residents. Job Responsibilities: Performs CNA skills. Accepts assigned duties in a cooperative manner, willing to work any hall. Identifies special resident problems, reports them immediately to the nurse, and takes an active role to help problem solve to resolve the issues. Reviews resident profiles and perform nursing cares as outlined. Able to work independently and is flexible to work all areas when needed. Completes all documentation in assigned noted books and electronic records as related to cares given. Answers call lights as quickly as possible. Observe infection control procedures including, but not limited to, hand hygiene and wearing gloves. Always leave the resident in a safe environment and ask, “Is there anything else I can do? I have time” Ambulates and transfers resident per their transfer policy. Treats all residents with dignity and respect and listens to each resident’s concerns. Helps to mentor new CNAs- not discouraging; promotes the job in a positive manner. Ability to work every other weekend and rotating holidays. Current CNA certification in Illinois.
