Description To provide quality, compassionate care and support to patients and families by providing personal care, companionship, and homemaker services to alleviate patient symptoms and caregiver burden in the home, patient care units and community nursing facilities. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Follow all infection control procedures · Follow plan of care as set forth by supervising nurse; care not performed should be reported promptly to nursing staff · Assist patients in achieving maximum self-reliance in activities of daily living · Assist patients with completing activities of daily living, as needed · Actively listen to patient and family concerns and allow expression of their feelings · Provide homemaker services as stated in organizational policy · Respond to all patient/family needs promptly · Take all necessary safety precautions · Maintain patient’s care area in a clean, neat, orderly manner with clear walkways · Make provisions for patient and family privacy at all times · Assist other staff in completion of their duties, willingness to work in two-person teams · Perform all other tasks, within scope of practice, as assigned by supervising nurse · Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: · Maintain CPR certification · Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills · Document and maintain competency records MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: § High school diploma required § Graduate of a Certified Assistant Training Program § Current listing on NC State Registry Experience: § Not applicable Licensures & Certifications: (if applicable): § CPR certification
