Schedule: * After your orientation period – you will work two 12 hour rotating day shifts each week (7 PM to 7 AM).  Working weekends and holidays are part of this rotation.        What you’ll be doing: * You’ll be working in one of our three inpatient hospice care centers and will be responsible for providing care for an average of 6-7 patients, or as assigned. * Point of Care charting is completed on desktop in the nursing station. * We provide direct patient care such as bathing, peri-care, dressing, mouth care, assisting to toilet, incontinent care, turning in bed, preparing and assisting with meals.  * You’ll be part of an interdisciplinary team consisting of a Physician or Nurse Practitioner, RN, social worker, and chaplain. * You’ll be responsible for working closely with the RN and your interdisciplinary team on your shift to communicate patient status changes and patient or family concerns. * Train family on how to provide personal care within your scope of practice. * Preparing and turning room over for new patients. * You’ll provide post-mortem care for deceased patients (washing, grooming, dressing, etc.) * Restocking supplies and rooms * Comfort measures over pushing someone to get better make sure that they are comfortable What we're looking for: 1. Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.  Completion of CNA course.  Must attend 12 hours of in-service training supervised by a Registered Nurse on a rolling 12-month basis. Has not had a lapse of 24 consecutive months where the aide has not provided services for compensation.  2. Licensure / Certifications:  Current certification with State Board of Nursing, or current registration with Department of Facilities Service in the State of North Carolina.   3. Experience:  No prior experience required.  Two years experience with hospice, home health or oncology preferred.  
Responsibilities
You will provide direct patient care in an inpatient hospice setting, caring for an average of 6-7 patients. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, communicating patient status, and providing post-mortem care.
