Description This is a floating position that will cover both AM/PM shifts for AMOREM's patient care units in Valdese and Hudson. To assist the nurse in managing basic level skills in the overall delivery of patient and family holistic care at the bedside and to promote a positive end of life experience. Focusing on respect, accountability, integrity, stewardship and excellence throughout the experience. Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Follow all infection control procedures · Administer daily care in an efficient safe manner: - AM and PM care - Assist with ambulation - Assist with diets/special nourishments - Change bed linens as needed · Perform duties safely and accurately, documenting results appropriately as directed by RN: - Skin care - Collect specimens - Intake and output - Vital signs - Enemas · Observe patient’s condition and report changes or concerns to the RN timely · Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of patients · Answer call lights promptly by regulatory standard · Assist other staff in completing their assignments as requested · Ensure all safety measures are in place per plan of care · Assure patient/facility laundry is appropriately cleaned and stocked · Assist with cleaning patient rooms, as needed per checklist · Other duties as assigned by nurse, within scope of responsibility, as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: · Knowledge of and commitment to the hospice philosophy of care · Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team · Ability to work a flexible schedule · Willingness to work with patients/families regardless of race, color, creed, age or sexual orientation MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: · High School diploma required · Graduate of a Certified Assistant Training Program I Licensures & Certifications: (if applicable): · Current listing on NC State Registry · CPR Certification PHYSICAL DEMANDS: · Visual acuity to read written documentation and computer tasks · Ability to sit extended periods of time and perform administrative tasks · Ability to stand, bend and lift an average of 30 pounds · Manual dexterity with the ability to manipulate office equipment and keyboard for extended periods of time · Ability to walk, squat, kneel, climb and balance SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: · Must have an automobile with required insurance coverage and state driver’s license · PRN employees must complete one 12-hour shift in 90 days
