Description The Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Nursing Manager and/or Chief Nursing Officer is responsible for: delivering patient care as delegated by and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, to the patient and family, identifying and reporting variances from the patient’s plan of care and supporting the discharge plan. Additionally, the C.N.A. may function in a secretarial role within the department. S/he answers the telephone, the patient call lights, visitor, patient, staff and provider questions and requests. This is a key position as the first contact most people have with the department. She/he assists and/or performs patient procedures within the scope of nursing practice of the Certified Nursing Assistant. She/he seeks assistance and support when necessary, assists in data collection, organizes those aspects of patient care for which s/he is responsible, and maintains accountability for own practice. This position may be caring for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. Requirements Education: High School Diploma or equivalent successfully completed Certified Nursing Assistant training. Experience: 6 months patient care experience- preferred. Computer Skills: Moderate computer skills Licenses: AZ Certified Nursing Assistant Certifications: BLS required upon hire
