Job Description: Certified Nursing Assistant - CNA The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides high-quality, compassionate, and efficient patient care under the direction and supervision of licensed nursing staff. In alignment with Oregon’s updated 2025 CNA certification standards, the CNA performs a comprehensive range of clinical, clerical, and support functions that promote patient health, safety, and dignity. All CNA tasks are carried out under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who provides guidance and oversight to ensure safe and appropriate care delivery. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, collecting objective data, supporting therapeutic interventions, maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating unit activities, and ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively Able to work collaboratively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams Strong understanding of cultural sensitivity and developmental stages of care Proficiency in basic computer use and electronic documentation Familiarity with medical terminology preferred Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail Demonstrates reliability, professionalism, and punctuality EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES High school diploma or equivalent required Current, valid Oregon CNA certification (per the 2025 unified certification requirements) American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required EXPERIENCE Previous CNA experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred Strong customer service, interpersonal, observational, and communication skills required GENERAL INFORMATION Union Affiliation: UFCW The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
