The CNA Training Program provides the opportunity to take a CNA course, at no cost, while working in a full-time Unit Helper position. Maine Veterans' Homes pays for your CNA certification, class time, as well as work time. After completion of the CNA course, and certification is obtained, you will then transition to a CNA position. Requirements High school diploma or GED Must be able to read at the 10th grade level and pass a written English exam demonstrating this. Requires proficiency in spoken and written English. Ability to understand and respond to residents’ needs and inquiries in English is required. Ability to effectively understand and communicate verbally and in writing, in English, is required. Responsibilities
Participants will work as full-time Unit Helpers while taking a CNA course at no cost. After certification, they will transition to a CNA position.
