JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking someone who has worked in a CNC machine shop who is familiar with the industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production processes, CNC machining knowledge, and the ability to lead a team effectively. The Floor Manager will work directly with management to ensure that production goals and deadlines are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The floor manager will be in charge of keeping an organized shop floor, preparing fixtures and tooling for ongoing jobs, and managing the maintenance and cleaning schedules for the machines with the teams in place.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5 years’ experience in management of production/manufacturing
  • Knowledge of CNC machine set-up and fixturing
  • Familiar with milling and turning machines
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, word, excel)
  • Must be able to communicate in both English and French

Responsibilities
  • Managing daily production activities of a team of 10 production workers to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to schedules
  • Managing programmers’ and operators’ schedules
  • Scheduling machine time with programmers accordingly
  • Organizing the shop floor and tooling
  • Helping to prepare outgoing WIP on pallets
  • Working with management to meet commitment dates
  • Supervise and train production staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning
