Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of shop employees including machinists, fabricators, and material handlers.
  • Assign tasks, monitor workflow, and ensure production schedules and deadlines are met.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members; conduct employee evaluations.
  • Oversee CNC programming, machining, and fabrication activities to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders to assign appropriate tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production or equipment issues in collaboration with engineering and maintenance teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures; enforce the use of PPE and proper work practices.
  • Inspect finished products and processes to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Manage inventory of tools, materials, and supplies; coordinate with purchasing as needed.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing and 5S practices, to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a machining, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with CNC programming, machining, and fabrication processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to coach and develop employees.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
