Description Babbitting Service Inc. seeks to hire a CNC Lathe machinist, with a minimum of 3+years' manufacturing or equivalent experience, to produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a lathe machine. BSI is a job shop, prototype and R&D manufacturing facility and parts can range from simple to highly complex with low quantity requirements varying from 1 or 2, to 20 or more per lot. This type of manufacturing requires quick set-ups, precision execution, and attention to detail for success. Requirements Setting tool registers, offsets & compensation. Sets-up CNC lathes by installing, adjusting and cutting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments and collets. Verify first-run part(s) for acceptance. Maintains specs by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls. Adjust cutting feeds and speeds for optimum performance. Advanced knowledge of CNC controls. Blueprint reading including geometric tolerances and surface finishes. Use measuring instruments including but not limited to micrometers, calipers, dial indicators with a high level of confidence.
