Optiforms, located in Temecula, CA is a leading manufacturer of custom metal components and enhanced surface finishes for high precision applications. We specialize in electroformed and CNC machined components, as well as electrodeposited plating's and vacuum deposition coatings. Job Purpose: Under the general direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, the CNC Machinist performs setups and operates CNC equipment to machine metallic and non-metallic parts. The incumbent is required to operate and effectively manage the output of machines in accordance with instruction and schedules as assigned. Required to CNC machine items to complete work orders produced by the engineering department and production flow manager. May also be occasionally required to operate conventional machining equipment. Job Duties:  * Interpret drawings, blueprints, sketches, and detailed written instructions for fabrication of components. * Set up and run parts on a 3,4,and 5 axis CNC Haas Mill and a Fanuc control CNC Lathe. * Make adjustments at the control and/or suggestions to the programmer to get first article buy off from Quality Control. * Monitor cutting performance and efficiency based on written programs and evaluate whether adjustments are required. * Assist other Machinists in cutter selection, proper setup, and technique to maximize productivity. * Interface with Quality Assurance, Engineering, and process control regularly to ensure high quality standards are being maintained. * Review material requirements for scheduled jobs and place requisitions for procurement. * Adhere to safety rules and compliance regulations. * Adhere to shift schedule. * Other duties as assigned.   Marginal Duties:  * Basic machine maintenance as necessary (i.e. checking air pressure, re-filling way lube). * Wipe down machinery. * Sweep and/or mop shop floors. * Empty trash cans. * Organize work areas. * Prepare materials for upcoming projects (cutting raw stock, lapping work pieces, etc.). * Assist in any other area as needed. Education/Qualifications:  The education/qualifications described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job. * Minimum 7 years’ experience in machining technologies (CNC) or related field * Experience with FANUC and/or Haas controls. * Ability to analyze blueprints, equipment manuals, and customer data specifications to provide timely and successful completion of tasks assigned to the machine shop. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. * Familiar with CAD/CAM programming, engineering, and computer-aided drafting software. * Capable of dealing effectively, diplomatically, and courteously with all levels of employees, outside vendor services, and source inspectors. * Flexible self-starter capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines. * High school diploma or equivalent. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:   * Machine shop trade school a plus, but not necessary.
