DESIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mazatrol programming experience required
  • Proven experience setting up and operating CNC lathes
  • Ability to run machines with minimal supervision
  • Familiar with turning tools and operations
  • Forklift and crane experience (asset)
  • Willingness to learn and expand programming/machine knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely around large machinery

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE: CNC LATHE OPERATOR

LJ Welding Automation is actively looking for a CNC Lathe Operator in Edmonton and surrounding areas to join our evening shift team. This exciting expansion marks the launch of a new shift as demand for our products continues to grow. By joining, you’ll contribute to the increased production capacity of a dynamic and thriving organization while working in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.
Start Date: Immediate
Location: Edmonton, AB
Shift: Day shift for training (6:45am – 5:00pm, Mon–Thurs, 10hr shifts). Transition to evening shift once trained.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Load raw materials and secure them properly for machining
  • Monitor machine operations, making adjustments as required to ensure product quality
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation
  • Label and stage parts for the next operation
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and deadlines
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance on machines
  • Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to building a strong safety culture
