Position: CNC Lathe Setup Machinist Programmer
We are a well established manufacturer of precision machined parts and we have an opening for a CNC Lathe setup person to setup and operate CNC Lathes. Our parts made from heat treated aircraft grade steels and are close tolerance and are sold to the Aerospace industry. Our facility is located in the Northern Anaheim area. This is a full time permanent position.
CNC Setup / Machinist duties include:
Interpret blueprints, and work instructions for setup and program CNC lathes.
Determine appropriate part holding, tool holders and tools, cutters and inserts to use.
Program Single, dual spindle and live tooling lathes using G code or Mastercam.
Adjust G code and train operators how to run production.
Load and run parts, change cutting tools, make offsets and adjustments.
Inspect work pieces during production
Measure parts using micrometers, calipers and other measuring equipment
Meet production goals track parts counts
Maintain machines, coolant, chip removal, cleaning, and overall work area cleanliness
Completing any other duties assigned by the General Manager
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 7 years of experience as a CNC Lathe machinist.
Must have lathe setup experience.
Requires running lathes with dual spindle, live tooling, mill turn type experience.
Experience machining tough aircraft heat treated metals.
CNC lathe programming experience highly desired using Mastercam
Functional communication skills In English required
Ability to resolve machining and/or quality issues independently. Make offset adjustments, replace cutting tools.
Must be able to inspect parts using mics, calipers, and other precision instruments.
Dual spindle lathe experience, or live tooling experience is required
Mori Seiki or Doosan experience Fanuc controls is desired.
Applicant must pass a basic background check prior to employment. Employer may also request references to contact and confirm prior employment and length of employment. Applicant must possess the ability to lift 40+lbs. and have the ability to stand at a machine for 8 hours per day. Applicant must be able to work in a noisy environment. Must have a mechanical aptitude and prior machine shop experience is preferred.

Full time position. We currently work a four tens shift, with fridays optional as needed for OT. Were hiring for first and second shifts as well.
