CNC Machine Operator Location: York, PA Job Type: Contract to Hire Shift: 1st and 2nd Shift available Rate: Starts at $23.00 (Higher compensation may be available based on experience) Professional Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join our structural steel fabrication team on 2nd shift. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC equipment, including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines, to produce high-quality structural steel components. The ideal candidate has experience reading fabrication drawings, operating heavy manufacturing equipment, using precision measuring tools, and maintaining a safe, efficient work environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. \n Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines such as plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines to process structural steel components. Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine job specifications. Load and secure steel beams, plates, and other materials using overhead cranes and rigging equipment. Monitor machine operation, making adjustments for accuracy and quality as needed. Use precision measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squares to verify tolerances. Perform basic programming edits or adjustments to accommodate different material sizes or thicknesses. Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to ensure reliable operation. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and shop safety protocols. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred. 2+ years of CNC machine operation in a structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings. Skilled in using precision measurement tools. Experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. \n
