JOB SUMMARY

The Machine Operator is responsible for a range of duties to ensure total order fulfillment. This position is responsible for the life cycle of an order once it reaches the plant ranging from: pulling product, to set-up and running of machines and equipment, to proper handling and packaging of order. This role supports Rolark’s commitment to quality, value and service to our customers in the effective, accurate and precise operation and maintenance of equipment, machines, and final customer product. The Machine Operator is responsible for accurate individual output, as well as contributing to the overall productivity of the Rolark team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

· Set up, adjust and operate assigned cutting machine as specified by work order and customer needs.
· Oversee the burning process which includes performing all cutting functions according to drawings, continuously monitor and inspect job for quality, and package finished product appropriately.
· Troubleshoot programming issues.
· Load material onto the machine bed, unload finished product, and remove remnants.
· Perform necessary machine adjustments to achieve optimal performance.
· Perform daily maintenance, cleaning and minor repairs as needed, notifying Maintenance Manager when repairs are required.
· Possess strong safety awareness, perform duties in a safe manner and comply with all Health and Safety procedures.
· Operate overhead crane and other industrial material handling equipment such as a Counterbalance, Raymond Reach, Tow Motor, Combi etc.
· Maintain a clean work area and facility
· Perform other plant related duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid forklift and overhead crane license or minimum 1 year forklift and/or overhead crane experience preferably with heavy material.
  • 1 year of experience operating a CNC machine.
  • Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of essential machine maintenance.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer-focused working environment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, small business environment.
  • A motivated team player with a “can-do” attitude that is able to troubleshoot, focus and organize work area.
  • Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently, and effectively while maintaining high attention to detail and quality.
  • Quick learner with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Willingness to assist other plant personnel when required.
