About the Role Vulcan is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join our Plate Processing site in Christchurch, working a permanent night shift (Monday to Thursday 2:00pm – 12:30am-40 hours per week). This role involves operating CNC plasma cutting equipment and handling steel plates in a fast‑paced production environment. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Key responsibilities include: Operating CNC plasma cutting machines (Kinetic K2000) Using overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment Loading/unloading steel plates and finished parts Monitoring cut quality and carrying out quality checks Labelling and processing cut parts Assisting with routine machine maintenance Keeping machines running efficiently with minimal downtime Working safely, independently, and as part of a night shift team CNC, plasma, laser, or machine operating experience (or willingness to learn) Overhead crane and/or forklift experience preferred (training available) Full driver licence (F‑endorsement an advantage) Strong health & safety focus Good attention to detail and work ethic Able to work unsupervised Physically fit and reliable A secure, permanent role with guaranteed hours and weekly wages Long-term career opportunities within a stable and growing organisation A supportive, flexible, and enjoyable team environment Access to our comprehensive health and wellness programme Represent a trusted brand and make a tangible impact on the industry Join a company that puts safety and people first Ready to Join Us?
