Position: CNC Machine Operator
Reports to: Production Manager
Location: 2485 Speers Road, Oakville
Shifts available (dayshift 6am to 2pm Mon-Fri or afternoons 2pm to 10pm (10 hrs) 4 days a week Mon to Thursday) Please indicate which you would prefer
Permanent after 3 months of probation

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a world class precision manufacturer of metal components and sub-assemblies that use metal cutting, forming, machining, welding, assembly and paint. We use state-of-the-art machining and fabrication techniques in a lean, self-directed work team manufacturing environment to produce high value-added, cost-effective products for our strategic partners.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Good Math and Mechanical Drawing skills.
  • Grad from College or Technical Trade School.
  • 5+ years of experience in setup and operate CNC Milling machines, company willing to train.
  • Experience with forklift, jib/overhead cranes are an asset
  • Physically capable of performing the essential duties and responsibilities of the position including regular lifting and carrying of 5-23 kgs.
  • Ability to work safe and independently within a fast-paced environment.
  • Written and oral communication in English.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate HAAS VF5 or VF10 CNC Horizontal Milling machines.
  • Ability to set up tooling per work instruction.
  • Knowledge of CNC program and codes (G and M codes).
  • Able to use precise measuring equipment.
  • Work with tight tolerances (within .001’) - ensure parts meet quality specifications as determined by drawing.
  • Read and interpret work orders, work instructions and technical drawing.
  • Work with heavy gauge steel and large parts.
  • Perform daily maintenance checks to ensure equipment and lifting devices are safe and ready for production.
  • Operate under fast paced conditions and may be required to manage more than one machine at a time.
  • Understand and comply with Company Health & Safety standards and programs.
  • Maintain an organized workspace and good housekeeping.
