Role Overview: The CNC Supervisor oversees CNC operations, ensuring machines run efficiently and products meet quality standards. This role provides leadership to the CNC team, monitors production schedules, enforces safety standards, and collaborates with engineering and quality departments to optimize processes. The CNC Supervisor is responsible for training staff, maintaining equipment performance, meeting performance and financial objectives and ensuring continuous improvement within the machining department. Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily CNC operations, including setup, operation, and inspection of parts to ensure adherence to specifications. Assign tasks and monitor performance of CNC Operators, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed. Analyze production plans, blueprints, and specifications to optimize machine setups and workflows. Ensure production goals are met while maintaining quality and safety standards. Review and interpret CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) data in collaboration with Quality Control. Conduct regular inspections of machines, tooling, and work areas, coordinating maintenance and preventive measures to minimize downtime. Train new CNC Operators on machine operation, safety procedures, and quality standards. Implement and monitor adherence to Quality Control Plans and company SOPs. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Document production activities, machine performance, and staff performance metrics. Requirements Key Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role preferred. Strong proficiency in interpreting engineering blueprints, CNC programs, and machining parameters. Demonstrated knowledge of CNC machine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM data interpretation. Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and mentor staff. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of safety protocols, Lean manufacturing principles, 5S, and TPM. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Education: Required: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an Industrial/Technical field or related field preferred OR associate’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
