The Boeing Company is seeking a CNC Machine Technician to join our Additive Manufacturing and Prototyping team in Tukwila, WA.
This technician will take part as a general machinist using CNC mills and lathes in a job shop to design and fabricate prototype and test parts, utilizing multiple technologies across traditional machining and additive methods. You will provide technical support for engineering changes and discrepancies, investigate and develop basic to moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts, participate in design reviews, create and revise drawings and models to support the build plan. You will perform self-checks of designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring efficient and high-quality additive manufacturing processes for aerospace products
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level or Senior CNC Machine Technicians.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Multiple post processing practices
  • Experience with 3 and 5-Axis Mill and Wire EDM
  • Experience with aerospace machining.
  • Ability to learn and support in fast paced R&D environments.
  • Experience of exotic materials
  • Experience of design practices
  • Ability to collaborate with both our team and our customers
  • Focus on customer needs and ability to work directly with customers towards goals
  • Design Experience
  • Ability to obtain security clearance
  • Model/mockup experience
  • Spray Painting models and assemblies

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience setting-up and operating CNC Mills and Lathes
  • 3+ years of experience in CAD/CAM software (preferred CATIA, Vericut simulation, MasterCAM,)
  • 3+ years of design experienc
Responsibilities
  • Programming, set-up and operation of 3-axis and 5-axis mills, wire EDM, CNC lathe and various hand tools with limited supervision
  • Knowledge of Mastercam 2019/2021, as well as with CATIA
  • Ability to machine prototype parts while maintaining a deadline per customer request
  • Ability to assess tooling and fixturing needed for jobs
  • Ability to ask questions as needed and to work collaboratively
  • Knowledge of blueprints, drawing tolerances, and 3D CAD models
  • Use of precision measuring tools
  • Knowledge of assembly (fasteners used, etc.)
  • Ability to use Microsoft Windows and personal computing devices as pertaining to job
  • Knowledge of machining of aluminum, stainless steel and plastics
