Description

OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Programmer to join our client in Oldham. This is a key role within the production department, responsible for producing high quality, medium to heavy workpieces in line with customer specifications and tight tolerances. The successful candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and be fully proficient with Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Siemens control systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in setting, operating, and programming CNC horizontal boring and milling machines.
  • Strong knowledge and hands on experience with Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Siemens control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and machining instructions.
  • Skilled in working on medium to heavy components with a focus on accuracy and consistency.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to carry out precise self-inspections.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required to meet production targets.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Formal engineering qualifications or completion of a relevant apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience in a subcontract machining or high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
