A permanent opportunity has become available to work as part of our advanced CNC machining team with opportunities available in both Milling and Turning.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Trade Qualification: A relevant qualification in CNC machining or Cert III Engineering (Fitter and Turner preferable) or equivalent in Machining background
  • Technical experience: Min. 3 yrs. experience in CNC machine setting, operation, drawing interpretation, use of measuring tools, etc.
  • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Defence industry knowledge or experience preferred but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Quality system knowledge / exposure preferred but not essential.
  • Basic knowledge of Excel and Word.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

As part of our recruitment process, successful candidates will be required to complete a police check and pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

The main function of the CNC Machinist is to set, troubleshoot, and manufacture components to ensure they are in line with technical drawings and match our customer & quality standards. You will be required to provide further, accurate feedback, and process improvement advice upon finalised products. To be successful for this role, we are seeking motivated individuals to join our team with experience in CNC machining or equivalent mechanical trade.

DUTIES:

  • Read and interpret drawings & technical information.
  • Ensure workspace is kept clean & tidy to uphold safe working environment and meet housekeeping standards.
  • Promote quality awareness.
  • Program Set and run CNC Machines.
  • Compliance to AS9100 Standard.
  • Assist with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations.
