Job Summary
CNC Machine Operator is responsible for the function and operation of various CNC machining equipment and operations. May communicate and coordinate with Quality Control and Scheduling to ensure cost-efficient operations. Actively pursues continuous improvement initiatives. The position performs a vital part in enhancing the Company’s infrastructure and has the capability to contribute to the strength and sustainable growth of Blue-White Industries.

Essential Job Functions

  • Operate CNC equipment in high production environment.
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines and saw machines when necessary, such as during peak production periods or in the absence of operators.
  • Ensures that parts meet specified tolerances and quality standards through regular inspections and quality control measures.
  • Work with QC to analyze production and implement tracking programs to meet quality objectives
  • Maintain accurate inventory control; verify, count, and organize inventory.
  • Provide record of quality and on-time production runs.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and workplace safety rules.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e., shoes, eyewear, gloves, masks, shields, and coats) if needed.
  • Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations.
  • Identify change and improvement in work processes to promote efficiency as B-W grows
  • Comply with all Company policies
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or assigned
  • Practice 5s and Lean Processing principles.

Experience/Training/Education

  • High School diploma required
  • Associate’s Degree or applicable Vocational training strongly preferred
  • Experience with modern CNC machine tools and a thorough understanding of the machining process and efficient workflow.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with operation of Lathes and Milling Machines
  • Experience in a technology-related industry preferred.

  • Possess understanding of CNC operation of lathes and horizontal machining centers.
  • Must be able to check calibration, read and use digital calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and other measurements tools as needed.
  • Strong mechanical and mathematical skills.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Adequate computer skills, with exposure to ERP environment.

Physical and Environmental Elements
Ability to stand, sit or move about continuously for up to 3/4 or more of normal work shift. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and to reach with hands and arms occasionally. Ability to talk and to hear continuously. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Finger dexterity is required frequently for up to 1/2 of the normal work shift for machine set-up, calibration and assisting employees. Ability to see at close range (20 inches or less), at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships, and ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
Special Requirements
May be required to work overtime as business necessitates; schedules will be determined by the department supervisor/management with at least 48 hours in advance notice.
