OVERVIEW

CARR Machine & Tool is a premier AS9100D certified CNC machine shop seeking a Machinist II to support shop throughput and minimize downtime. This role is focused on performing changeovers on repeat, previously proven and certified jobs while ensuring machines are properly prepared to resume production. You’ll work within ProShop ERP, following established processes and maintaining strict adherence to labor logging and part verification protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC milling machines.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

You should be proficient in:

  • GD&T
  • G-Code
  • M-Code
  • Machine Setups for Production Runs
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
  • Blueprint Reading

  • CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC) (Fanuc, Doosan, Mazak, Makino, Brother, Haas, Hurco, Dmg Mori Seiki, Okuma)

Responsibilities

Perform changeovers using setup sheets, tooling lists, and job documentation in ProShop ERP.

  • Load and verify CNC programs, tooling, and fixtures per job requirements.
  • Run and confirm first-part conformity to previously certified specifications.
  • Submit in-process checks (IPCs) to Quality at intervals defined in ProShop.
  • Accurately log labor time per Labor Logging Guidelines, including splitting time across multiple machines if applicable.
  • Make basic machine adjustments such as tool offsets and touch-offs as needed.
  • Identify and report discrepancies in setup, tooling, or documentation.
  • Maintain machine cleanliness, coolant levels, and safe working conditions.
  • Communicate deviations or issues promptly to the Shop Lead.
