GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for the operation of CNC machinery (could be one or all of Lathes and Horizontal and Vertical Milling machines) as well as the inspection of finished goods from the machine to ensure process control is maintained. Responsible for following all health and safety codes which involve machinery.

DESIRED SKILLS / KPI’S

  • Time served machining apprenticeship
  • Machine operation experience in manufacturing setting.
  • Experience on CNC machines is essential.
  • Strong numeracy/mathematical skills are essential.
  • Must be capable of operating manual machinery including jib cranes.
Responsibilities

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Operate CNC Lathe (Harrison Alpha 550T & Mori Seiki SL35),
  • Operate CNC Horizontal Milling Machine (Mori Seiki SH63)
  • Operate CNC Vertical Milling Machine (Daewoo VC500)
  • Review and update setups and working methods / procedures including SOP’s.
  • Operate manual machines Lathe, Drill, Mill
  • De-burr castings and parts after machining
  • Quality assurance inspection of parts according to drawings and requirements
  • Maintain efficiency records of equipment
  • Manual statistical testing to ensure machine is to specifications
  • Perform safety and housekeeping tasks
  • Perform all machine set up duties
  • Maintain machines daily and perform preventative maintenance tasks
  • Participate in any EHS activities including Risk assessments within manufacture.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities to drive improvements.
  • Training – will be required to be involved in further training and to provide training to peers and apprentices.
  • Implement and improve the company’s Quality system.
  • Will be required to work in other areas as and when required.
