• Study sample parts and/or read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations and plan sequences;
• Set-up and operate CNC milling machines;
• Test boring bars
• Select proper tools and fixtures required as well as the ability to perform tool wear offset;
• Set proper speeds and feeds;
• Verify and document deviations of part dimensions against customer specifications using precision measuring instruments to close tolerance (With the use of thread gages, height gages, verniers, bore gages, micrometers and protractors);
• Full understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T
• Be proficient at all aspects of FAI per ‘AS9102’
• Scan jobs in Microsoft Dynamics AX software and fill out traveler once job has been inspected
• Document measurements
• Operate hoisting and lifting devices to load and unload the components;
• Understand, interpret and edit FANUC G-code programming;
• Recognize, deploy and properly use inserts, fixtures and tooling;
• Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery;
• Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures;
• Help train less experienced CNC Machinists;
• Understands variables causing non-conformance of parts such as tool/work offset, length of tools, incorrect tools;
• Fully understands manufacturing processes and potential pitfalls;
• All other duties assigned by the Supervisor
