Description

FTE Engineering in Busselton Western Australia are seeking a skilled Machinist/Fitter with experience in operating CNC machines and working with hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining, assembly, and maintenance, with a focus on precision and quality. The Machinist/Fitter will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC machines to fabricate metal parts as well as assembling and fitting components with hydraulic systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC machines to produce quality parts according to specifications
  • Program CNC machines using G-code and CAD/CAM software
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality control
  • Assemble and fit components with hydraulic systems, ensuring proper alignment and functionality
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering and production teams to meet production deadlines and quality standards
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines at all times

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining/fabrication
  • Proven experience as a Machinist/Fitter with CNC and hydraulic systems experience
  • Proficiency in setting up and operating CNC machines, including programming
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, components, and assemblies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects as required
