POSITION SUMMARY

The CNC Machinist II completes set up and operates both manual and CNC equipment for the efficient production of quality components. Responsible for the production of high-tolerance precision parts. Ability to run and troubleshoot multiple machines. Responsible for set up, run, debur, inspect, and deliver parts and tools that meet engineering and Customer requirements.

THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED

Required:

  • Vocational/Technical degree/certification in CNC Machining plus 1+ year experience or 4+ years of CNC Machine operation CNC machine operation in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated CNC set up experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Experience running multiple types of machines
Responsibilities
  • Interpret technical prints.
  • Must have knowledge of CNC machine G&M Code and troubleshooting skills to identify and communicate program improvements to programmers.
  • Setup, operate and adjust machining equipment for production efficiency without supervision.
  • Monitors quality of parts produced to ensure customer requirements are met and follows procedure for handling nonconforming parts.
  • Abides by all Company safety and health policies and procedures.
  • Must use personal protective equipment if required.
  • Aware of and conforms to company ISO goals and objectives and supports company ISO requirements.
  • Aware of and actively participates in company’s Lean philosophy of continuous improvement.
  • Ensures measuring devices used to check product quality are calibrated prior to use.
  • Maintains in-process product identification
