The Machinist Intern supports the manufacturing team by assisting with CNC and manual machining operations under the guidance of experienced machinists. This role provides hands-on exposure to machining processes, shop safety, blueprint reading, and quality control while developing practical skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assist with operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathes, mills, and other shop equipment to produce precision components. Support machinists with machine setup, material loading, tool changes, and basic machine preparation. Measure and inspect parts using precision tools (calipers, micrometers) to ensure components meet blueprints and quality specifications. Perform manual tasks such as deburring parts, saw operations, and cleaning work areas. Follow work instructions, blueprints, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures. Perform routine housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment. Learn and apply basic quality control principles and documentation practices. Actively participating in safety training and complying with all company safety policies. Ability to read simple blueprints or willingness to learn Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions Ability to work well in a team environment Preferred Qualifications Previous exposure to CNC machining or manufacturing environments. Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers, Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, metal shavings, and machinery.
