Overview: We are seeking CNC Machinists to join our world-renowned leader in the machining and tooling space at the cutting edge of precision manufacturing. In this role, you will put your troubleshooting and machining skills to work every day, performing advanced 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC grinding to meet incredibly high tolerances. Don't be deceived—this is true machining work at its finest, and the equipment and techniques you'll use are all the same as traditional CNC work. Grinding experience isn't required! We have openings on evening shift Compensation $26 - $30 / hr total comp $25 - $29 / hr total comp $1 / hr shift differential on 2nd shift $2 / hr raise after 4-month training is complete Shift 223 rotating 12-hour shift 6pm - 6am Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off and paid holidays Responsibilities: Machine Setup & Operation – Set up, operate, and maintain multiple CNC 3-, 4- and 5-axis periphery grinding machines to produce precision components. Blueprint Interpretation – Read and interpret complex blueprints, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) specifications, and work instructions. Quality Audits & Tolerancing – Perform in-process inspections using precision tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to verify tight tolerances. Material Handling & Inspection – Load and off-load inserts, gage dimensions, scope visual characteristics, and record inspection results on route carts. In-Process Adjustments – Make necessary adjustments to unique grinding programs to dial in cycles and maintain process integrity. Tooling Maintenance – Maintain tooling used in machines, resurfacing as needed. Documentation & Tracking – Separate scrap from good inserts and document accurately, scanning correct production information. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving – Troubleshoot moderate to complex problems, collaborating with technical experts as needed. Continuous Improvement & Training – Support continuous improvement efforts to optimize processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency. Train new operators when required. Safety & Production Goals – Adhere strictly to all safety and quality procedures in a clean, organized, temperature-controlled work environment while working to meet daily departmental production goals in accordance with the production sequencing plan. Qualifications: Required: Experience: 2+ years of CNC machining experience (milling, turning, or grinding). Technical Skills: Strong understanding of machining fundamentals, tooling, feeds/speeds, and setup processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Quality Control: Experience with quality inspection tools and verifying tight tolerances. Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to working safely. Preferred: Advanced Machining: Exposure to 4-axis or 5-axis machining environments. Programming: Basic understanding of G-code or CNC programming.
