JOB SUMMARY

The Company requires a driven individual who wants to develop their skills and career within a Machine Shop environment. The post-holder will have a proven track record in a similar role, working on high end, technology-based projects within an engineering environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating CNC machines to produce precision parts and components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various materials. The CNC Machinist will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production processes.

SKILLS

  • At least five years’ experience of CNC Programming/Setting.
  • Duckboard programming experience.
  • Experience in tooling setup and adjustment for various machining operations.
  • Proficient in operating CNC machinery, including milling equipment.
  • Considerable experience in using all forms of manual inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of quality control based around ISO 9001.
  • Basic mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for programming, setting and running CNC machines (Mazak Lathes, XYZ Lathes with Siemens Control, XYZ milling machines with Siemens controls and Fanuc based mills and lathes) for production and development work.
  • Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to determine machining requirements.
  • Conduct regular inspections of machined parts using measuring tools to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
  • Ability to improve to an already effective production strategy and to make themselves aware of the product quality, departmental objectives and health and safety requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
